装饰线描的作品，美就美在——点、线、面的组合和排列营造出来的视觉效果，与写实不同，装饰线描往往带有强烈的主观色彩，而非写实所追求的那层求实的境界，装饰美——多数为了表达画家对世界的美好看法。为了创造强烈的视觉感受，画家把它们线性化了，用结构的状态来体现描摹对象的内涵。

禅绕画的作品，和上者的形式性质一样——都是点线面的排列组合游戏，都是强烈的装饰美感，但是，禅绕画可以不追求任何结果，它在意的是，人在创作时的反应。你必须平心静气的完成一幅禅绕画，否则，将可能无法成为一幅画，但这又有什么关系呢？哪怕只画三两个圈圈，只要你平复情绪的目的达到了，也算是一次禅绕之旅了。
看到这里，有人会想，这不是太糊弄了嘛，敢情没画完的装饰画就是禅绕画啊！别着急，接下来，听我们娓娓道来禅绕画的真谛。 禅绕画的完成形式，目前来说，你能看到两种不同的呈现：一种——特有规律，特美好圆满的样子，我们把这种形式叫做“禅陀罗”，你可以简单理解成：像陀螺一样一圈一圈，保持着强烈连续重复图案的节奏。
还有一种，无规无则，随心所欲，有时看起来还像个什么，有时又什么也不像，白老师把这种非禅陀罗的形式，又分成两种：具象禅绕画和抽象禅绕画。所谓具象禅绕画，也就是，能看出表现了什么，从外形猜呗；而抽象的禅绕画则恰恰相反。 不论是哪一种禅绕画，它追求的远远不是一幅装饰线描可以比拟的快乐——虽然学会画一幅装饰线描之后那种成就感也是非凡的，但是，禅绕画更关注的是画者的内心“是否有了某种变化”，也就是说，相对于作品本身来说，我们更关心你！
比如说禅陀罗的快乐——那种反复、精致的重复所带来的美好，从指尖流淌出来的缠绕美丽，那得是一种什么心情？这期间人的大脑得经历什么样严密的思索？发生了什么？Who
knows? 而禅绕反复告诉你的“不要紧，不要在意画的像什么”所带来的毫无压力感，更是强调了在无任务驱动之下的人体放松，特别是人脑。 当然，你也可以说，禅绕画就是装饰线描，但是装饰线描画不见得就是禅绕画，这是两种概念。 所以，禅绕画适合所有人来画，就是这个原因，它不像装饰线描，最好有个速写基础什么的，才能把对象表现的更有美感。 在禅绕认证教师的指导之下，任何人都会有一个好的开始，并且感到自己“画的还不错”。你不觉得这样的一件事情很神奇吗？至少我们觉得，让每个人都拥有某种自信，这应该是一件功德无量的事情。
